INTRODUCTION

For most purposes related to fanfic, a Sindarin name generator is far more useful than a Quenya name generator. So much more useful, in fact, that I spent numerous hours and days of my own sweet, precious free time looking up all the rules that went into this. And then coding them by hand. Using Notepad. You all better start kissing my butt, now. Thank you very much.

Actually, you better start kissing Lenine's butt, because she fixed all my shoddy coding and made it into what you see today: something that actually works.

This page was made for the general use of all Tolkien fans, either fanfic writers who want names for original characters, or just those who want Sindarin names for themselves or others. People are always asking for Sindarin names, either for characters or in the way of "What's my name in Elvish?" and this is my way to help them. Using this page, everyone can (hopefully) assemble plausible Sindarin names for their purposes.

The new Sindarin Name Generator is no different from the QuenGen in its setup, and no more difficult to use. But please read the introductory topics and generator instructions carefully- you'll get a better result for it and reduce your chances of hitting a bad Elvish name. And to be honest, bad Elvish names really piss me off. That's sort of why I made this page. I know, I'm a very selfish person.
