Fantastic new announcement!
Really!
As of now (March, 2007), the Elf Fetish fiction archive is once again
open to submissions. Feel free to send me your fiction for
archival consideration. After a long while of complaining that
there are no good-quality Elf-only fanfiction archives out there, I
figure I might as well try to do something rather than whine.
This one is small, but at least it's something. Something
logically has to be better than nothing. So I believe.
Therefore, I am now accepting Elf-centric fanfiction of gen, het, or
slash leanings. Stories can be emailed in doc, rtf, or wps form
to il_perfido@yahoo.co.uk.
Please do not send as inline email, as this buggers up the
formatting. Attachments are best.
But before you send, please read the
following new rules and guidelines.
All stories submitted will be read for spelling and grammar.
Minor errors (typos and such ) will be corrected, but I will not be
making any editorial changes to your story. However, I may send
it back with suggestions for correction.
And I'm going to admit it directly. I'm a picky person.
There are many things in fanfiction I don't like, and because this is
my website and I'm Supreme Emperor of the World as far as it's
concerned, I get to put what I want on it. So here is a short
list of what I am (probably) NOT accepting for this archive.
Everything is judged on an individual basis, but still, if your story
falls into a category on this list of things that make me go argh, its
chances will be hurt.
- Drabbles or ficlets. If it's less than 1000 words, it's not
my thing.
- WIPs from authors I do not know. If I know you and trust
that you might one day finish it, sure, but somebody I've never heard
of sending in the first chapter of a WIP will have a tough time.
The first five chapters will fare a bit better, since that at least
gives me something to go on.
- PWP. On average, it doesn't really add much to the fandom.
- Mary Sues. Enough said.
- Things that are uncanonical for no good reason. The story
being an AU would be a good reason for a break in canon. For the
record, I do not consider slash to be uncanonical.
- MPREG. Absolutely not a chance in hell.
- Stories in which Elves do not feature as the major focus or an
Elf is not the undisputed main character.
- Aragorn. I freely admit to my severe bias against
Aragorn. A story with a prominent Aragorn, even if all the other
characters are Elves, will have to be pretty damn awesome for me to
want to post it here.
If that's what I don't want, then, what am I looking for?
Primarily, stories with intriguing plots, solid characterisation, and
sound writing. I do have a preference for anything First Age, so
will probably be far more lenient in allowing stories concerning
Silmarillion characters. But mainly, I just like good fanfiction.
